Feeding Guide & Important Information

On average, feed 2-3% of your adult dogs ideal body weight per day, split across meals. Feeding a range of proteins helps provide a broader spectrum of nutrients, as each protein source offers different benefits. For adult dogs, secreting organs remain an essential part of a balanced raw diet. The Dougie’s 80/20 range with veg and the 80/10/10 range already contains the correct balance of 80% meat, 10% bone, 5% liver and 5% another secreting organ, removing the guess work from meal planning.

If you prepare your own raw recipes, aim to include 5% liver and 5% another secreting organ, such as kidney or spleen, across the overall diet.

You can also feed raw bones 2-3 times a week to support dental hygiene and provide enrichment. Always choose bones suitable for your dog’s age and size, and supervise feeding at all times. We don’t advise that you feed cooked bones, as these can splinter and may cause serious harm.

Avoid feeding onion, grapes, raisins, walnuts, avocado or chocolate as these are toxic to dogs.

Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling raw meat and disinfect all surfaces, utensils and dishes immediately after use.
